June is Pride Month…

Celebrating heritage and culture…

With the City of Laguna Beach’s 2017 proclamation recognizing June as “LGBTQ Heritage and Culture,” month as presented in 2017 by Mayor Toni Iseman, and June being recognized on the national level as “Pride Month”, Laguna Beach Pride 365 has a grand the plan to celebrate with a full day of fun and festivities. We will festoon the City with Rainbow Flags, followed by a hosted party / social “Celebrating a Summer of Pride”.

Thinking globally and acting locally…

The rainbow flag truly represents diversity and equality of all “colors,” and Laguna Beach Pride 365 proudly speaks up with the message that diversity and equality are basic human rights and matter to everyone. Starting at 1 PM and continuing to 4 PM on May 31st, on the eve of June Pride Month, we will gather at the west end of the Forest Street Promenade, where we will organize and distribute rainbow flags to anyone from local businesses, residences, and individuals. From 4 PM until 7 PM, we will take the celebration to the Susi Q Event Space on the patio veranda with entertainment, beverages, and light bites; a $10 donation is suggested. The next day, June 1st, the City of Laguna Beach will raise the rainbow flag in front of City Hall as they have done for the last 5+ years and where it will proudly fly for the next 30 days.

For the Rainbow Flag distribution, from 1 to 4 PM, we will meet at the west end, the ocean side of Forest Avenue Promenade in downtown Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach Pride 365 will provide flags of various sizes to distribute to anyone, business, residence, or individuals to display and share a message embracing diversity and equality. We suggest comfortable shoes and clothing. We will have bottled water and a limited amount of energy snacks available. Bring a friend if possible, as it is always better to work in pairs. Consider UBER, LYFT, or public transportation, as parking is limited. You are not required to arrive at 1 PM to participate. If you can make it at a later time, we will need your help! Or just come to show your support!

The Summer of Pride Celebration, from 4 to 7 PM, is at the Susi Q Event Space on the outdoor patio/veranda. Wine, beer, non-alcohol strawberry punch, and lite bites are hosted; we suggest a $10 donation. Feel free to bring snacks or any prepared food or beverage item you may wish to share.

RSVPs are appreciated but not required. This information helps us plan and anticipate what to expect, ensuring a great event!
